About Me: 21 Questions Challenge

About Me: 21 Questions Challenge

A post solely of questions and answers isn't massively interesting although I have tried to be my most entertaining self. So to brighten it up a bit I've scattered some of my more interesting selfies about the place. Enjoy.

1. Are you named after anyone?

I damn well shouldn't be. I am a unique flower. My middle name, Elizabeth, is after a great-grandmother, I think. My mum wanted us to have names that no one she knew had. Even now I meet very few Abigails.

2. When was the last time you cried?

About 10 minutes ago at a sad story on Facebook. I'm a sucker for those 'people aren't so bad' posts as well. It's the good things that make me cry more often than the bad. I'm a crier. I cry at loads of stuff.

3. Do you have kids?

No, but I reckon I will at some point. Probably when I stop being mortally afraid of the idea of pregnancy and birth. I've been to two baby showers lately and you'd be surprised how much of that time is dedicated to the horrors of childbearing and the results of giving birth on your body.

4. If you were another person, would you be your friend?

I reckon so. I think it'd be interesting to see yourself how other people see you. But I also think you'd maybe find yourself a bit annoying no matter what. Basically, I'd give it a go but then avoid myself as often as I could.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Yes. It's applicable to most situations and is a great way to express a range of emotions. Sarcasm and jibes were the main ways to show affection in my house growing up. Don't cry for my childhood, at least it was funny.

6. Will you ever bungee-jump?

I already have. Probably the single most terrifying thing that I've voluntarily done. Scarier than a skydive as well. The adrenaline high is pretty intense but you crash so hard after. I feel asleep for a few hours thanks to the come down. Party hard.

7. What’s your favorite cereal?

I don't really eat cereal, I prefer eggs. But if I had a choice - Honey Nut Cheerios. They stay crunchy for ages. Again - party hard.

8. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

I have a habit of looking at people's shoes. I do it without really noticing but you can get a reasonable amount info on a person from their choice of footwear. Wow, I am really anti-social, aren't I?

The other thing is, If I'm with another person, I notice if they're talking to one person or trying to engage both. I think it conveys a lot if you're willing to completely ignore the presence of another person. Or it easily reveals intentions, especially in social situations. I will decipher who you are trying to pull as fast as I can you unwanted fuck-boy.

9. What is your eye colour?

Dark brown. When I was little they looked black in photos, I like them but have always wanted to pull off blue or green eyes. I think they'd look weird though, like I was missing a bigger part of my soul than I already am.

10. Scary movie or happy endings?

Scary movie, I reckon. Happy endings stuff tends to be cheesy to a point that annoys me, but I do like a Disney film. Oh, and nothing with ghosts, I basically get nightmares - HOW DO YOU STOP A GHOST?! THEY'RE MADE OF NOTHING BUT BAD INTENTIONS! And they go through walls, and the usually have telekinesis, and they're invisible at will, and they live forever, and sometimes they're the devil. I hate ghosts...

11. Favorite smells?

Shoes polish, musty basements and pizza. All are oddly satisfying but only one is supremely delicious.

12. Summer or winter?

Winter. Jumpers and boots are my thing. While I do love the pretty dresses of summer, shaving my legs constantly and being reminded of how pale I am are not really enjoyable. Plus winter has Halloween, Bonfire night, Christmas and New Year - all of the best parts of the calendar. I'm born in June, but I'd sacrifice my birthday for glitter and booze any day.

13. Computer or television?

Probably the most boring question so far. Computer, because internet. If you say otherwise you're definitely over 50.

14. What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?

Australia. I don't know which city will have been furthest but I suspect Melbourne or Sydney. I went travelling alone before I started uni. I was 18 and part of me really doesn't understand why my mum let me go. I survived and had an amazing time but I was not adult enough.

15. Do you have any special talents?

Nope. I am pretty much talentless. I do roller skate, which I guess isn't something most adults can do. Other than that I am completely uninteresting. Why do I have a blog again...?

16. Where were you born?

Rugby, in the UK. I moved to North Wales when I was 4 or 5 so see myself as Welsh. Am disgustingly more English than I ever let on. Same with all British when they're abroad.

17. What are your hobbies?

Roller derby and blogging. I haven't been skating in a while but I'm trying to get back to it. The blogging is new but I'm enjoying it. The amount of time that has to go into it really does make it a proper hobby - this amount of writing can't be explained another way.

18. Do you have any pets?

Yup, two unusually small Jack Russells. I am solidly a dog person. I've grown up with dogs and love my stupid little fuzz bags even though one of them did devour a tub of Vaseline the other day and now we live in fear of toilet time.

19. Favorite movie?

I really don't know. It's one of those things; either there's too many to choose from, or there's nothing that's struck me. It's probably a kids film, if I'm honest. Considering it's Christmas I'm just going to go with Arthur Christmas.

20. Do you have any siblings?

I have two brothers - one older, one younger. Yes. I'm a middle child, can you tell? It's nice meeting sisters and then realising that a relationship with brothers is so different. Oddly enough, I don't think I've ever wished for a sister, I've always been ok being the only girl with two idiot brothers.

21. What do you want to be when you grow up?

How grown up are we talking? I'm 27 so I think that's grown up territory. My wish for my future is to work my way into a career I'm happy with and to make sure I'm happy in my home life as well. I think I'd love to earn from blogging. Perhaps that's something for me to aim for.

I hope you liked finding out a bit more about me. What else do you want to know?
